•One hope that you have when you think about working with

One hope that I have about working with children and
families who come from diverse backgrounds is that I can meet their needs. I hope that I will be able to make them as comfortable
as possible to ensure that they have the best experience while their child is
in my classroom and never feel left out because of their background.
•One goal you would like to set for the early childhood
field related to issues of diversity, equity, and social justice (any format
and any length)
One goal that I would like to set for the early childhood
field related to issues of diversity, equity, and social justice is that every
child will be treated equally regardless of their background. Everyone is entitled to their education and
has the ability to learn. It is our goal
as educators to help them any way possible.
I would like to take this
opportunity to thank my colleagues who took the time to read my blogs and comment. We sometimes learn best when I see our own
perspectives through someone else’s eyes.
I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us. The information you shared is and will remain beneficial to each of us. The children and their families will also benefit from the information you shared.
ReplyDeleteI too agree that as educators it is indeed our duty to help children or anyone for that matter, in any way that we possibly can. As educators that is what we do, we assist and we teach. Thank you for all of your useful insights throughout the course of this class. I bless your journey!
ReplyDeleteI think that making parents feel comfortable is such a worthy goal. It could be just little things that show you value and respect them but it will make a big difference in the end. I wish you well as you continue your work with children and families.
ReplyDeleteI think the goal you have set for yourself is extremely important. If a child doesn't feel comfortable in the classroom I would assume it would be difficult for he/she to learn and ask questions. I also think that it sets a positive example for children to learn from about how to be respectful of other peoples cultures. Thanks
